How much does it cost?List Item 2You’re probably wondering how much it will actually cost to get your tattoo removed. This can be a difficult question to answer without seeing a picture of your tattoo. Feel free to text us a picture of your tattoo for a session price - 972-768-9684. Laser tattoo removal treatment plans are customized to each individual client. We are happy to give you a free personal consultation in person, on the phone, or via text to give you an accurate price. You can also submit the contact form and include a picture; we can quote you a treatment price immediately. Once in a while, we want to see you in person first to determine the safest way and pricing. These are usually when you have a very large tattoo. You’re probably still wondering, “How much does laser tattoo removal cost? How expensive is it to get a tattoo removed?” It depends on several different factors that are particular to your specific tattoo. These factors include: size of the tattoo, color of the tattoo, type of ink used for your tattoo, as well as how deep the ink is in the skin. All these factors combined are what allow us to develop a custom treatment plan for each of our clients. Saying all that, most tattoos take between six (6) and 12 (twelve) sessions. The only variation to that is home-made tattoos called stick and pokes, eyebrows, or very old tattoos that we call old school. These can take fewer sessions. Our pricing is from $75 per session to $400 per session based on the factors above. We also give a volume discount for people who have more than one tattoo to be removed.

What technology do you use to remove a tattoo?List Item 3Shipers Laser Tattoo Removal Center operates the Quanta Q-Plus C Series Laser which is the only 3 true wavelength Q-switched laser currently available in the world. This laser has the capability to remove all colors on all skin types, while delivering more power with less side effects. An important characteristic of Quanta’s laser is its square beam distribution which allows the energy of the laser to be evenly distributed in the tissue, resulting in no hot spots and twice the energy to break up your tattoo. The Quanta Q-Plus C Series is an FDA approved laser for tattoo removal.

How does the laser break up the tattoo ink?List Item 4When the laser is fired at your tattoo, the pigment within the tattoo will absorb the energy from the laser and shatter it apart. This absorption combined with the incredibly fast pulse of energy from the laser creates a shockwave-like effect that also assists in the ink shattering. As a result, the ink acts like a river boulder being broken down into small rocks which are washed downstream.
-
How does the body remove the shattered ink?In the days and weeks following a laser treatment, the body’s lymphatic system flushes away the shattered ink particles, causing the tattoo to fade. Over a series of treatments, more and more of the ink shatters, leaving the skin free of ink.
-
Why does it take multiple sessions?Tattoos have layers of ink stacked on top of each other within the skin. This thick concentration of ink pigment particles cannot be completely broken down in one session. You should be very wary of any laser tattoo removal center that promises to remove your tattoo in fewer sessions. Not only is this likely unethical, it is also probably dangerous to your skin. At Shipers LTRC, we go over your entire tattoo with the laser, breaking up as much ink as possible in every session. Each session will produce some level of fading. However, the total number of treatments needed for your tattoo depends on several factors, including age, size, color, ink density, skin type, and the health of the client. During your free consultation, via phone, text, or in person, we will discuss and estimate how many treatments will be necessary to remove your tattoo.
-
Will my tattoo be completely removed?Yes. However, there are no regulations on the manufacturing of tattoo ink so there are hundreds of ink manufacturers with unique formulations and colors in the market that cause each tattoo to fade at different rates. Sometimes a small amount of pigmentation may remain in the skin even after multiple treatments. At Shipers Laser Tattoo Removal Center the tattoo is deemed completely removed when the client is satisfied.
-
Can I only have a part of my tattoo removed?Yes, many clients will either remove certain sections of their tattoos, like a name, or get enough treatments to fade the tattoo adequately for an effective cover up replacement tattoo.
-
What are alternatives to laser tattoo removal?Laser tattoo removal is the only safe and effective method to removing tattoos. Creams, lotions, and medication do not work!
-
Is laser tattoo removal safe on all parts of the body?Laser tattoo removal can be performed on all parts of the body. However, some areas can be more sensitive or considered high risk. Our technicians will assess each client during their free consultation to determine what is considered safe and what is considered high risk. We do not treat high risk patients or high risk areas.
-
Will the laser procedure scar my skin? No. This is a common question that many new clients understandably ask. The Quanta Q-Plus C Series laser used at our center will not scar the skin for two reasons. First, the laser doesn’t go deep enough in the skin to cause a scarring response. Second, the pulse from the laser is so fast that only the tattoo pigmentation is affected and surrounding cells and tissue are left undamaged.

Does laser tattoo removal hurt?Almost every client we treat compares the pain from the procedure with that of getting the tattoo applied. A key difference is that laser tattoo removal is much quicker – most treatments take between 30 seconds and 10 minutes for completion. Patients compare the discomfort with that of a rubber band snapping against their skin. Black ink tattoos are more uncomfortable to remove than colored tattoos due to the wavelength of light we use to break up the ink. Pain tolerance differs from person to person. If you were able to receive the tattoo in the first place, you will have no problem getting it removed. In addition, we use the Zimmer Cryo 6 cooling machine and ice packs to numb the skin and dull the pain before and during any treatment.
-
How long does it take to heal after getting treated? At Shipers Laser Tattoo Removal Center, we use the latest laser technologies, which allow for the fastest healing time. After a treatment, we will put Aquaphor or aloe on your tattoo along with a bandage called Tegaderm. You can expect to have bandages on for a few hours or days. You may have swelling or redness for about 24-72 hours after the procedure. You can apply ice to the area, and we ask that you don't work out that area for 24 to 48 hours. The treated area may feel like sunburn. Additionally, the area can itch from healing. You can use Benadryl, Aquaphor, hydrocortisone, or ice to help with the itch.
-
How long do I have to wait between treatments?Your first few treatments should be spaced at least 8 weeks apart. Then we can gradually allow for your treatments to be spaced 10, 12, 16, and eventually 6 months to a year. This allows your body’s lymphatic system to naturally dispose of the ink and eventually make the tattoo fade completely.
